What is new in the Registry?

3/1/2000-EOM and EOQ will be run today!

Further, RPI system has been slightly altered.  Your RPI Strength Score (exclusive of RPI Victory %) will now represent the Average RPI earned in your drops.  This will make the system MUCH more accurate!

HD won all top 5 spots in Solaris This Quarter! Congratulations!

2/19/2000 -  Battles may now be launched with greater than 24000 troops. If the dropships are available. Available dropships will be used (up to 12001 troops each) as needed. So, a single battle could now utilize the maximum 6 dropships for 72,000 points. (Can you say EXPRESS BATTLE) 

- Remember the maximum sector garrison is only 28,000 troops, remaining forces are retreated. (sent to your bank).

2/16/2000-  3 New Inhabital Planets found by the Grand Council's Court Cartographer. 

2/15/2000- Added player notes, team histories and several Rank insignias. Could definitly use more rank insignias.

2/14/2000- ADDED VOICE CHAT AREAS!  One general chat on HPG uplink page.  Each unit has thier own Password protected Unit Voice Chat available at the Unit Page. They are of Course available in the chat forums also.

NEW VOTE ISSUES ARE POSTED ABOUT FLAMERS AND C5.

Further, Free planets have banded together and made contributions to several Defending units Bank accounts.  These were very small contributions, but they should help the families of the pilots lost in the defense of these planets.

2/11/2000- Eliminated the RPI penalty for playing very low rank unranked players.  See chat area.  I am adding an RPI class.   ADDED CLASSES TO THE CHAT AREA .. THE FIRST IS ON RPI!!!

2/2/2000- Moving this page to the Chat area, to better serve the might Registry warriors!!

Added Strength Mod Rating so that pilots can see what the RPI modification was from thier last drop.  This modification is averaged into the current RPI to determine the new RPI. This is available at the Unit page and the Players page. It started working as of 2/1/2000. I will run EOM today.

Also, I added links on the Results page to players stats. This actually is quite a pain to do due to the complex database parameters. The Chat Area is starting to get warmed up also! Check it out!

1/22/2000- Added a search function to the Players Directory . Now you can search for any part of a players name and get info on them.

1/21/2000- Renamed the voting issues and added a voting issue about the font size of the menu list.   Added a voting resultspage so that players can see how we are voting.  Also changed the Leader's Select Members page to reflect player Strength because Strength does not get reset every quarter.

1/20/2000- Added the clickable menu list.  Let me know what you think!

1/19/2000- Added VOTING issue about invalid email addresses and made it so that leaders must have valid email addresses or they do not have access to leader functions. Also fixed the email system so that 'NONE' email addresses are skipped.  Until this issue is resolved players who do not wish to recieve email should use 'NONE' when signing up.  All current players were automatically updated to this setting.  I improved the signup page's validation, and fixed a bug on the voting page that I missed which wasnt allowing votes to be submitted.  It must have begun when I upgraded the database format and drivers.

1/16/2000- We now again allowing MFB's in battles.  I updated the RESULTS.ASP page to allow you to view drops after a specified date.

1/13/2000- Worked on Chat and added http://www.mechreg.org/duel.asp   page.  From the Duel page you will be prompted to select which groups participated in a specific drop.  This greatly reduces stress on the server and speeds up reporting ALOT.

1/11/2000- After Indiana University's OT loss at Michigan State in College Hoops... I have started toying with some chat addons to the Registry site.  http://www.mechreg.org/chat/  will home the chat addons when they are done.  If you fill out messages and registrations they will be cleared out when the final version is ready.  Other than that feel free to post test messages.

1/8/2000 - Updated some links and added some buttons and fixed some typos! Check the solaris.htm page (Solaris VII ) and the Player section of the web site to see what I did. Also added a Player Directory.  It was there before, but only would allow you to see 1 player at a time from the top ten or group players pages.

1/5/2000- Added the grid background ( as seen here) to the maps.  This should make it easier to judge distances by eye and when printing.

Added SOLARIS HALL OF FAME  page and ran End Of Quarter player stats.  HD wins all 5 top solaris spots for more than 50,000 credits! congrats!  All player stats except RPI are now reset and the next quarter ends on 3/1/2000. Go kill!!

1/3/2000- HAPPY NEW MILLENIUM!!!

I fixed the launch 12000 bug. Now you can actually launch up to 12009 troops in each dropship.  No more pesky 12000 = 2 attacks problems.  Sorry about that whole thing. 

12/31/1999-End of Month Run! Groups will have some extra cash and attacks are again available.  Preparing to add extra environment variables for the addon ( Desolation Ridge) I hope it rocks.  I will buy it today!

Considering adding MFB's back to league play. Also considering adding Level 5 Mechs back to the Mech Configs.  It would be less restrictive than level 4. CONFIG SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!!!

12/16/99- Optimized BattleReport page.  Tracking down an error found when submitting defaulted battle vs unoccupied planets.

12/13/99- Thanks to HD Shiprapid for all his help with the new teams!  YOUR THE BEST, MAN!

12/3/99- Had to reset sectors again.  Some teams had carried over troops and dropships and industry.  Please reselect planets.

12/2/1999- LEAGUE RESTART TODAY!!!!!  ALL GROUPS RESET TO WAITING.  Groups must choose planets, and activate again.  Hint: IS planets have more defense, outer rim planets have more offense to start with.

11/08/1999-We will be resetting the league very soon to accomidate new groups.  Also Planet Garrison bug has been fixed so that you will not lose money if u incorrectly input information.

10/23/1999 - WE ARE OFFICALLY MOVING ALL DROPS TO THE ZONE BY DEFAULT.  There are several TCP hacks that have been found which DO NOT work on the ZONE.  This move will help reduce cheating in the league. Kali can still be used but only if both teams agree.  Otherwise the team refusing to play loses.

10/22/1999- ZONE ANNOUNCEMENT !  We will allow drops on the ZONE and battles will soon be scheduled on the ZONE in addition to on Kali .  We are reviewing the details.

10/1/1999- EOM Run! Quarter 3 finished in solaris, congratulations to WC they took all 5 top spots. That is worth more than 50k credits!  Player stats will be reset today.

9/23/1999- AWARDED A GOLDEN WEB AWARD!

Fixed several very minor glitches. Improved the sorting of the results page. Working on new faster Battle report page.

9/18/99- We will be allowing the ZONE to be used for SOLARIS and DUALARIS matches.   With the 1.3 patch we may begin using the ZONE for full scale battles.

9/16/99- ALOT CHANGED.  Changed the map links so that they will show full screen. 

Added Drop point totals to the RESULTS screen to simplify leader duties.  Also made the page much smarter.

Changed the rules in a sticky area:  IF the ATTACKER DEFAULTS, Subtract 1/2 of the attacking points from the defender points.  The attacker then retreats with the other 1/2 of the original attacking points + any excess from the subtraction. Select the DEFENDER as the winner.

9/15/99- Checked some spelling errors on DB 8)..  Fixed RESULTS.Asp Page so that look ups are faster. Sped up Solaris Drop Report page

9/6/99- ADDED PLAYERS area so that players can look up thier statistics.  Added Alliances screen in the Teams area.

9/3/1999-  Added GroupRPI table to Top Teams Page .  You can view which team has the best overall RPI.  Players aren't counted until they win a game so adding players won't hurt your team RPI.

Adjusted the SOLARIS RULES to conform more to MECHWARRIOR 3. Considering movng to the ZONE.

8/30/1999- Disabled 'ALL' League emails, if ALL is selected at the EMAIL page, it will automatically only goto leaders.  Fixed a server hardware problem. 

EOM will take place 9/1/99!

8/25/99-  COMPLETED THE SENTRY GARRISON /MERCS AUTOMATION.  Read the Leaderfaq on how sentry garrison and Mercenaries are used. 

8/23/99- Finished the Friend&Foes screen so that Mercs can be hired and can accept contract there.  Eliminated alot of BUGS on the page.

ALMOST COMPLETED the ResourceManagement screen so that Mercs can send Sentry Garrison to Hired Planets. Mercs cannot send Sentry to ALLIED planets. Eliminated the Next/Previous Planet bug.

8/22/99- ALOT has changed.   First, Cystar finished the HTML update. So, I implemented it.  The site is much nicer now. 

Updated the Schedule.asp screen to include battle passwords and Notes.  This will help leaders schedule and play battles.

Added the Name of the scheduling leader to the Pending battles screen so that battles can be better coordinated.

Added Battle Notes to the Attack Page.

8/20/1999- Fixed the Planet Pin Page.

8/19/1999 - Added a very powerful and surely contraversion Sectors Spy Recon Screen. Here you can get general strength grading on enemy sectors that are within attack range. While the grading scale is vague, you can compare the grading with the grading of your attacking planet. Opponent Sectors are listed from weakest to strongest. This screen costs 1200 rp to view.  Please send comments to [email protected]

8/18/99-  Added BattleCalculator page but you must have MSOffice 2000 for it to work. I will keep working on a more universal solution.

Added the LeaderSummary screen to summarize where your troops are at the moment. Still in progress...

Also Closed some loopholes and improved the readability of the rules areas.

8/17/1999- Added http://www.mechreg.org/council.asp  page so that everyone can view who is on the registry council.  This council will raise important issues in the future and represent thier group in council matters.  When issues come to a vote, these are the members who will be voting on behalf of thier groups.  We will soon elect a rules czar to oversee the creation of new rules and the refinement of current rules.

8/12/1999- Upgraded the server, it should be about 2x faster.

You cann not activate a group now until you have 5 members.

We will be changing the rules AGAIN.  Proposed changes are as follows:

-  Limit AC ammo to 6 tons total on C4 mechs.

-  Do away with MFB's and wait for the next patch that supposedly has more multiplayer settings.  (caugh caugh)

8/8/1999-  Ally Hop Attacks Completed!! You can now attack enemy planets from through your allies space!

8/7/1999- LeaderFaq   getting started!  Mercs stuff getting completed!

8/1/99- LEAGUE STARTS TODAY!!  Can't launch battles until tomorrow though.

Finished FRIEND AND FOES (Contracts Screen) You can assign ally, enemy groups and hire mercs there.

7/28/99- Fixed Resource View Page.  Working on the Friend and FOE/Contracts screen for leaders.

 RESET LEAGUE - ALL LEADERS SHOULD RECHOOSE PLANETS AT THE http://www.mechreg.org/groupsignup.asp page.  Hit edit and find your group, then be sure the correct leader is selected and hit update. BATTLES CANNOT be launched until 8/1/99. 

USE IE4.x!!  Made the site work better on ie5 and netscape 4.61.

7/26/99-Started completion of league  THANK GOD THE PATCH IS OUT!!

7/8/99- Implemented HONOR&DISHONOR PAGE. Some fundamental DB changes.

7/6/99- Implemented Attacker battle scheduling.  Attackers must set up three pending battle dates when creating a battle.  Defenders must use one of these dates, unless an battle date is negotiated by the team leaders.  ALSO adjusted the group rank screen to be less specific.

7/5/99-Added Group Rankings and a SPY Page for group leaders!  Now you can view who the toughest/richest groups are. The Spy screen costs 500 rp to view, because it gives some good info.  The Spy screen is basically an expnded Group Rankings screen, so view it first.  You will notice groups are graded A++..F in different categories. I recommend you save the screen for future referance.

Added Attacker scheduling!  Be sure to be responsible when scheduling battles.  I added some more error checking, but ultimately the leaders must communicate problems with the schedules and work them out before the 10 day limit.  Attackers can now schedule the battle when they launch it as a "Pending schedule".

Limited the amount of dropships a team can own to 6.

7/4/99- Fixed a bug in the email system.  ADDED EXPRESS BATTLES . Now, there won't be any more 7 hour long battles.

7/2/99- WOOPS, got stuck in San Fran. Will run EOM tonight.  Had a bug on the new topten rankings... Its fixed now.

7/1/99- Added automatic ranking to non-group players.  If you break into the TOPTENpage and have no current rank , then you will gain rank depending on your RPI rank.  The RPI ranking on the TOPTEN page will rank the top 25 players with more than 6 drops.  The highest rank you can gain is "ACE", but "Veteran", :Warrior" and "Cadet" ranks can also be gained.  You can view all ranks at the Ranks.asp page.This not only rewards good players, but it also balances the RPI scale for good players who have no current rank. See Solaris-RPIfor more details.

6/29/99-Updated RULESand FAQ, fixed more bugs.  If you cannot report a drop due to a CDBL error email meand write down the results.  I will reply when you should resubmit.

6/26/99-Added Group totals screen-accessible from the CO's office only. Changed the Group Edit screen to allow teams to deleted themselves from the Database. It is very frustrating when a team sets all thier group attributes to BLANK.  It is very bad for the database, and may cause planets to not be available for attack and defense.

Add BUY DROPSHIP to CO's OFFICE . The cost increased everytime yur group buys a dropship.

Changed the group edit screens so that group Abbreviations have a maximum of 5 characters.  You will screw up the MAP if you use really long names as your group abbreviation.

Fixed several issues with players who have blank email addresses.  Use [email protected] instead of blank. * These were causing bugs on the solaris and dualaris pages*

Updated the RULES page.

6/24/99-  Increased default font size slightly.  Added several VOTING issues.

Changed the email system so that it sends Blind emails. ( Only see yourself in the to list.)

If you are recieving emails and dont want to you have 2 options.  1. edit your player attributes at the SIGNUP page to change your email address.  2. If you are a leader, have your rank reduced. (SOMEONE IN YOUR GROUP MUST HAVE ACCESS TO THE AUTOMATION. ONLY RANK LEVELS 1 AND 2 HAVE ACCESS.)

6/23/99- ADDED BATTLE/DROP RESULTSPAGE. You can view all your drops both solaris and dualaris also Battle Drops.  This Page is an excellent place for commanders to review battle drops as battle progresses.  When the battle is complete just review the battles drops and total the resource points used.

Changed Email system to reduce the amount of emails sent. (Shut down completly for 6/23)

Added Vote for "Should ATTACKERS be allowed to schedule battles??" Leaders & Ambassadors can Vote  at /vote/default.asp

6/22/99- SOLARIS 2v2  CODENAMED  DUALARIS!! Report as DUALARIS.asp  This Page is also used to report battle drops.

Results page almost done.  One minor SQL issue to resolve.

MECH CUSTOMIZATION RULESCHANGED  C4 is now the default for all battles, while any level can be used if agreed upon for SOLARIS and DUALARIS.

Thanks BURNER and FB for the First battles played.  We now KNOW how to get everything running smoothly.  

6/19/99 - Implement SOLARIS Battle Report Page!!   

Worked on Resource Management problem.    Implemented RPI rankings.  Fixed TOPTEN Page.

Updated the RULESpage.  Check for Mech Customization Rules.

6/16/99- Fixed Some Buttons.  Changed the way Leader Login works. Added a few confirmation pages. WORKING ON SOLARIS

6/14/99 - Added Planetary Regiment Names to Resource View.   Also, this name is available for other units to see and fear when looking at planets from the Map

Fixed the Error when creating battles and the battle number returned 69 instead of the correct BattleID.

Fixed the Resouce Management Screen so that attacked (or Pinned) planets cannot have garrison or industry changed until unpinned.

Updated the FAQ page.

Added New Rank structures and Mech 3 Missions to the Database.

Added Missions Referance Screen

Completed  Battle Scheduling Screen.  NOW OPERATIONAL!

6/13/99 - Added Player Signup confirmation page.  You can email the group you wish to join with your information directly from this screen.

Added Battle Scheduling Screen so that everyone can see when to play.  Defending Group leaders may schedule any battle they participate in.  I recommend emailing the other leaders to resolve conflicts.  When you set up a schedule a email message will automatically be sent to the groups involved.

If the battle takes place on an unoccupied world, any registry player (except those on the attcking group) can freeboot and play in the defense.  Any group can schedule defense of a unoccupied planet. 

Added this page!

Added Member selection Confirmation Screen for the group Leaders.

Leaders can no longer view group members passwords.  If a member needs thier password they must have it emailed via the player signup screen.

6/12/99- Greatly improved MAPS.When you have signed in as the leader of your group, you now can view detailed planet info by clicking on your planet.  This works from the general map or the UNIT MAP.  Also fixed the Netscape version of the unit map.

REMINDER THIS SITE IS DEVELOPED FOR IE4.X.  We have not tested under the beta of IE5, and only partially tested under Netscape..
